Most beginners start with Dermafinity Beginner Eyebrow Training if they want a full foundation in PMU brows, including mapping, colour theory, machine fundamentals and supervised model work. If you want to specialise in lips and eyes, Beginners Lips & Eyeliner Training is designed for those with no previous PMU experience who want to learn lip blush and eyeliner safely.
Beginner courses cover safe practice aligned with UK standards, including health, safety, hygiene, consent, aftercare, contraindications and healing. You’ll also learn skin anatomy, colour theory, design and mapping, machine control, needle selection, step-by-step treatment workflow, complications awareness and business basics like pricing, photography and building a portfolio.
Advanced courses focus on high-level skill building, refined technique and premium results. Depending on the course, you’ll train in advanced styles such as pixel brows, ombré shading, combination brows, layering, full lip blush, contour, soft fade blending, 3D effects, lash enhancement, shaded eyeliner, winged liner and designer effects. You’ll also learn corrections, troubleshooting, colour mastery, retention strategies and faster, cleaner workflow.
Blade to Shade is a 2-day progression course for microblading artists who want to add machine shading and offer Powder Ombré Brows. It is designed to bridge manual strokes and machine work, focusing on mapping, shading and blending for soft, shaded brows with long-lasting results.
Yes. Training is hands-on with supervised live model work included on relevant courses, with the option to bring your own model where offered. Class sizes are small, with a maximum of 3 students, so you get personalised coaching and detailed feedback at each stage.
Certification depends on the course. Beginners Eyebrows includes the VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Micropigmentation pathway, plus a Dermafinity Certificate of Completion. Other courses provide Dermafinity Certificates of Completion or advanced certificates such as Advanced Dermafinity Eyebrows, Advanced Dermafinity Lips, Advanced Dermafinity Eyeliner and Blade to Shade. These certificates are suitable for insurance applications, and you will also receive guidance on insurance and local authority licensing requirements.
Most courses include a training manual, step-by-step guides, starter kits or advanced reference guides, consent and aftercare templates and professional portfolio images from model work.
